ACTIVITIES OF THE BOARD

Activities relating to the consents under the Water and Air Acts; No Objection Certificates; Hazardous Wastes, Bio-Medical Waste, Municipal Solid Waste Management and their Authorisations.

Processing and finalisation of Consolidated Consent & Authorisation applications under the Water Act, Air Act and HW Rules.

The Board has implemented the system for Consolidated Consent and Authorisation [ C. C. & A. ] from April 2003 onwards.The details for the same are as under :

Consent to Establish :

The Board on receipt of application for CTE / Site Clearance scrutinises proposal with respect to the proposed site and the proposed pollution control measures and issues CTE / Site Clearance if it fulfills adequacy of proposed pollution control measures and various siting criteria. Authorisation granted under the Bio-Medical Waste (Management and Handling) Rules, 1998

As per the Bio-Medical Waste (Management and Handling) Rules, 1998, the occupier of any institution generating and/or treating bio-medical waste (BMW) shall obtain authorisation of the Board for the collection, reception, storage, transport, treatment and disposal of BMW .
